1) Organized foundation engineering with Hazelwood Engineering. Emailed project requirements and provided a general overview of the scope of work needed for the project.

3) Provide preliminary drawings to the garage door installer to make sure rough openings match the doors, quoted, and ensure there is enough space for wall-mounted commercial openers. Pre-engineering double check.
4) I sent an email to AMSCO Windows to ensure rough window openings match the requirements for the four 2' by 10' windows above the west-facing garage doors.
5) Found one small mistake in preliminary plans (roof sheeting plan) panels 24 Ga. L4 Harbor Blue (wrong color -contacting Ed to correct 4/30/23).

1) I reviewed the site plan with Altitude Engineering. Verification of building location, Water, power SWPPP plan envelope, driveway & concrete pad.

1) Meeting with Sean at 1960 Edwards Ln to confirm the building layout. It was decided the new building would run north-south in the long orientation per the site plan developed by Altitude Engineering updated civil plan. This includes a 30 ft offset from the property line.
2) The driveway location was confirmed near the south side of the white fence.
3) The property owner identified the ideal spoil disposal locations.
4) The property owner showed us the location of all known irrigation lines. One main line is behind the current barn and is marked with an access cover. A second line was identified in the envelope of our proposed electrical line to service the new structure. The homeowner suggested that this be capped as it is currently leaking. This will be completed upon the installation of the electrical.
After meeting with Sean at the project site, Nick & Jared paid a visit to Western Steel Buildings to check in and confirm the status of final engineering as plans as they were already delayed.

1) Reviewed the updated site plan and made one small correction regarding the power trench location. The trench was moved from passing through the driveway to follow the perimeter of the property. This was confirmed by Meredith Reid in a phone call, as the driveway will stay in place.

3) After the initial rebar inspection, the inspector requested a change to all piers; thankfully, our team of 15 was able to reset the rebar despite it being identical to the engineering detail. Upon the inspector's return a few hours later, the rebar inspection passed, and we had a successful pour.
4) After completion of the pour, concrete blankets were laid out to protect the new footer until it was fully cured.

1) After yesterday's pour, we returned to the site to double-check that all concrete blankets were still in place and cleaned up the job site. Everything was in order, and the concrete cured well overnight.

1) Today, our team striped the footers and cleaned up all waste materials from last week's pour.
2) Additionally, the first semi arrived with 50% of the steel structure. The structure was unloaded, checked for damages, and inventoried.

1) Today was a rainy/snowy day, so the concrete crew was off, but we were still able to receive and unload the second half of the building. The remaining building was double-checked for damages and inventoried.

1) Today, we began the layout of the concrete wall locations and installed 340 feet of 2x4s for the base of the concrete forms.
2) Jared Grant & Ben Williams began hydro excavation of the power lines for the new tie-in and power upgrade.
3) Lastly, we began excavation of the house well and exposed the main water line for service to the new structure. Prior to leaving, this was insulated with concrete blankets to protect the well from freezing.

On Friday, we finished the concrete pier prep and had to make some tweaks to the rebar to ensure the anchor bolts would sit plumb.

On Sunday, the rain continued, but we were able to begin the truing process of installing whaler supports. A lot of hammering, string lines, and staking was required, but the walls straightened out beautifully.

Today was a super rainy day, but we were able to keep things rolling with rebar install and anchor bolt gig buildout.
1) Rebar double check/tweak. Ensured all spacing was correct.

It was a big day, but the team did great as we successfully poured 340 feet of foundation wall.
1) First thing, the boys installed the rebar hairpins & trued up all forms.
2) Then Jason from AllTerra Land Surveying stopped by to confirm all anchor bolt layouts prior to pouring.
3) Quin from Wasatch County performed our rebar inspection and we successfully received of certificate of approval.
4) Upon the boom truck's arrival, we poured 30 Yards of concrete with F'Prime C Mix. (4500 PSI, With hot water & 1% accelerant to ensure curing with the cool temperatures). The outdoor temperature during the pour was 54 degrees, with an evening low of 28 degrees.
5) Lastly, to ensure our beautiful new walls were protected from the cold, the team stayed late to cover the concrete with blankets. One blanket on either side of the wall and one blanket on top to keep everything cozy!

1) Today Jared had a meeting with Eric Larsen at Hunt Electric stating our disaffection with Greg the service provider. Negotiations were made with Eric Larson defining the additional fees caused by Greg the electrician and how our bill would be prorated.
2) Installed 4” floor drain pipe in each bay and stubbed out side 30ft. Additionally all plates are covered with metal caps for easy access when septic expansion is approved in later project phases.
3) Upon a meeting with Heber Valley and Light, it was made clear it would be a cleaner install to place the meter next to the power pole. Therefore we excavated the last sections of trench and relocated the meter base to the power pole.

1) Concrete Slab Install Day 4:14am Start, the crew crush it. To kick things off we made sure all our washout and hoses were in place, our drain elevations are set and installed 340 feet of joint expansion foam around the perimeter of the floor. At 5:30 am the first truck arrived and we began the pour. With 25 min spacing, it took just over six and a half hours to pour the floor. Then the real work start, from 1pm to 10:00pm the concrete team hand and power troweled the floor 5-6 times cleaning the edges and making the floor super smooth. Additionally, as the floor was curing we laid out the control joints and began cutting the vital joints until we can return tomorrow to complete the job. All and all the floor looks beautiful. Tomorrow we will complete the saw cut the joints and clean the slab.

2) At 1pm we had a our final & building electrical inspection with AJ from Wasatch County and passed with no alteration required.
